Filing Limits for Telephone Reopenings
Reopening requests must be received within one year from the date the claim completed processing. The date paid on the Medicare Summary Notice (MSN), Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), or Standard Paper Remittance (SPR) determines this. Reopening requests received after the one year time limit will be dismissed as an untimely request.
