Self-Service - Computer Based Trainings (CBT)
This is the ninth in a series of articles about Self-Service Technology. The article today will focus on Computer Based Trainings (CBTs).
CBTs are self-study courses designed to increase knowledge of the Medicare program. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS) Medicare have developed CBTs for providers' use.

The CBTs consist of two different formats.
- Recorded audiovisual presentations have a speaker presenting material. The information is also available in written format for people unable to view the audio-visual format by selecting "read the script."
- Slideshow format allows the user to move through the presentation at his/her own pace. This format does not contain audio and is read-only.
