The Provider Transaction Access Number (PTAN) is Coming!
Beginning in early December, your provider number (also referred to as your legacy provider number or PIN) will begin to be referred to as your PTAN. This change is cosmetic only and will not affect providers' claims payments or submissions. Providers, however, should become aware of the new verbiage as the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) will now prompt for the PTAN. Provider enrollment letters will also reference PTAN, and Customer Service Representatives will refer to the number as a PTAN or legacy provider number. More information on the change will be forthcoming in the near future.
