Anesthesia Claims
WPS Medicare has recently received a "mass rebilling" of anesthesia claims that have previously been processed. We currently request an anesthesia record for each operative session performed when our records indicate that an anesthesia service has already been processed for a beneficiary with the same date of service. These duplicate claims are causing unnecessary letters to be generated requesting this additional documentation. If claims are being resubmitted due to the revised 2006 fee schedule (for more information on the revised fee schedule, go to http://www.wpsmedicare.com/provider/new_06_fees.shtml), please be aware that WPS is currently in the process of doing mass adjustments.
