1) How long will it take for my enrollment application to be processed by WPS Medicare?

Forms CMS 855B and 855I applications submitted for initial enrollment in Medicare are generally processed within 60 calendar days of receipt.

Forms CMS 855R, and changes of information submitted on Forms CMS 855B and CMS 855I, are generally processed within 45 calendar days of receipt.

Processing is delayed, however, when applications are submitted that are incomplete or are not completed correctly. Please refer to Question 6 under "Application and Documentation: Questions and Answers" for the most common errors resulting in the need to return or develop applications.

Note: Ambulatory surgical centers and portable x-ray suppliers require certification by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) prior to Medicare enrollment, a process that may take six to nine months after the CMS 855B is submitted.
