Part B Organizational & Individual Practitioner Supplier Enrollment Revalidation
Consistent with Medicare regulations found at 42 CFR §424.515, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has begun a limited provider revalidation effort focusing on the top 50 billing (dollar value of submitted claims) Part B organizational and individual practitioner supplier billers who do not currently have an existing PECOS record.
These entities or individuals will receive a 'Revalidation of Medicare Enrollment' letter from WPS Medicare. The letter provides instructions and the time frame the provider needs to take to complete the enrollment revalidation process. Failure to meet the 60-day time frame can result in revocation of billing privileges.
The instruction that WPS Medicare received to conduct this revalidation is contained in Change Requests 6574 and 6485. These instructions are located in the CMS 2009 Program Transmittals
