Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS) Enterprise Data Center (EDC) Sign On Procedures

1. The CMS screen will display after you signon. Enter your new EDC LOGON ID and TEMPORARY PASSWORD "START123" and press the Enter key

2. The first time you log in, the "Password Expired" message will display after you press the Enter key. You will be required to create a new eight-character password that contains all lowercase letters and two numbers. The Password format should be three letters two numbers three letters for example (abc12def). See the EDC Password Standards section on page 12 for additional helpful hints before creating your new password. Then enter the new password in the "New Password" field and press the Enter key.

3. Once you enter your New Password, the message "PLEASE RE-ENTER THE NEW PASSWORD FOR CROSS-CHECK" will display. Re-enter the new password in the "New Password" field and press the Enter key

4. Once your password has been changed, the message "PASSWORD SUCCESSFULLY ALTERED" will display at the bottom of the Application/Description screen.


MULTI Command Procedure

Prior to being allowed to access an application, you will need to set the MULTI command. Below are the instructions for setting your profile to default to MULTI. If you do not complete this step, the command will need to be entered each time you sign on. You may also receive the error message "APPLICATION NOT AVAILABLE"

5. Enter *IC,'*multi' on the "SELECTION" line and press the Enter key.

6. The message "PROFILE REQUEST PROCESSED" will display

7. You will need to logoff in order for the system to update the profile. Type "logoff" in the "Selection" field and press the Enter Key to return to the CMS Menu

8. On the CMS Menu, re-enter the EDC Logon ID and password that was created in step 2 and press the Enter key

9. The EDS "APPLICATION/DESCRIPTION" menu will display. To access the desired application, enter the number to the left of the application on the "Selection" line and press the Enter key. Depending on the state your facility is located in, you will not have access to all of the below applications if you do not have a facility located in each Zone. For example, if you only have facilities located in Texas, the only application option you will have is the Mountain Zone

10. The WELCOME TO CMS EDC AT EDS screen will display the message "SIGN ON COMPLETE" at the bottom of the screen

11. Your curser will be in the top left hand corner. Enter "fss0" (last character is a zero, not the letter 'O') in the upper left corner if you want to access the FISS System and press the Enter key. If you want to access the Common Working File (CWF), skip step 9 and go to step 9b.

12. The FISS Main Menu will display

13. Enter "HIQA" in the upper left corner and press the Enter key to access CWF

14. The CWF Inquiry screen will display


Instructions To Switch Between FISS and CWF
If you are logged into the System and would like to switch between FISS and CWF, follow the below steps.

15. From the screen that you are currently logged into, press the F3 key until you reach the screen that display the message "Session Successfully Terminated"

16. Enter in the upper left hand corner and press the Enter key to return to the Application/Description Menu Screen

17. On the "APPLICATION/DESCRIPTION" menu, enter the number to the left of the application on the "Selection" line and press the Enter key.

18. On the Welcome to CMS EDC AT EDS screen, enter the application name you would like to access (FISS or HIQA) and press the Enter key


Logoff Instructions

To logoff the FISS or CWF application, follow the below steps from the screen that you are currently logged into.

1. Press the PageUp key, then press the PageDown key to return to the Application/Description menu screen.

2. Enter "logoff" on the "Selection" line and press the Enter key
