New, Retired, and Revised Policy Updates will be Published on the WPS Medicare Website Beginning December 30, 2009

Beginning December 30, 2009, providers will find new, retired, and revised policy update information on the WPS Medicare Website within the "Policy/Coverage" section of the site. Within the "Policy/Coverage" section of the Website, there will be a new "Policy Updates" link (which will be located within the secondary (left-hand) navigation bar), which will bring you to the new, retired, and revised policy updates.

WPS Medicare will update this page on a monthly basis, so the policy update information will be available by the first of every month. Policy updates will be available on this page for 3 months, after which time you will be able to find them on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Website within the Medicare Coverage Database (MCD).

Previously, WPS Medicare published new, retired, and revised policy update information within the monthly edition of our newsletter, the Communiqué. However, effective January 1, 2010 with CMS approval, WPS Medicare is publishing the Communiqué on a quarterly basis. Within each quarterly edition of the Communiqué, we will also publish a listing of the new, retired, and revised policy updates from the quarter.
