Final UPDATE Reason Code 32511

In an article posted on 09/24/09 titled "Reason Code 32511," we advised providers of the options they could follow regarding claims that Returned to Providers (RTP) in error with reason code 32511. One of the options was for providers to take no action on claims that edited inappropriately with reason code 32511 between 09/09/09 and 10/04/09 until a solution was received from our System Maintainer.

A solution was received and implemented on 11/02/09. All claims pending in RTP status with reason code 32511 were recycled and retained the same receipt date. As a result, those claims that edited incorrectly with reason code 32511 no longer edited and moved on within the system processing cycle. Other claims that correctly edited with reason code 32511 have edited again and remain in the RTP location.
