How does this affect you?

  • Providers & Beneficiaries

Claims will continue to be processed by Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS). Providers will not see any changes in CMS' processes for recovering debts where the provider, physician, or other supplier is overpaid due to receiving a duplicate payment from an insurer and/or workers' compensation carrier.

As of October 2, 2006, the National Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Contractor (MSPRC) will recover monies due to the Medicare Program. This will centralize all receivable cases to one Medicare contractor. The MSPRC will send all demand letters and recover the amount due.
