Cost Report Settlements and the 2007 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Ratio

Effective July 31, 2009, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) instructed its contractors to stop issuing final settlements for cost reports that use the fiscal year 2007 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) ratios. Consequently, if your hospital will be receiving a Disproportionate Share (DSH) payment or Low-Income Patient (LIP) adjustment for the cost reporting period beginning on or after October 1, 2006 and before October 1, 2007, WPS will not issue a final settlement on this cost report until CMS lifts the stoppage.
